Lifeguard & Lifeguard Manager
Pool/Parks Department

The City of Lamesa is accepting applications for the position of Lifeguard and a Lifeguard Manager. Applicants must be mature, responsible, and least sixteen years old.  Must be able to obtain CPR and Lifeguard Certification.  Cost of Lifeguard and CPR training will be paid by the City of Lamesa.
Requirements:  Must be willing to work the months of June and July.
Pay:  Depending on experience and qualifications, starting at $10.00 per hour plus overtime.


Communications Officer
Police Department

The Lamesa Police Department is accepting applications for a Full Time Communications Officer.  This position operates equipment and coordinates all emergency calls coming in the Police Department for Police, Fire, EMS, Animal Control Officer Department, and all other Emergency and Support Units while in their field operations, by facilitating their communications, records, and other information available through the Police Department.
REQUIREMENTS:  Must have computer skills, be willing to work shift schedules including nights.  Work is typically performed in 12-hour shifts.  High School Diploma or GED required. Must be at least 18 years of age, be a U.S. citizen to meet licensing standards, able to pass departmental background and maintain physical standards, have a valid Texas Class “C” Driver’s License with acceptable driving record and ability to maintain City of Lamesa driving standards, while no experience is required, some experience in emergency communications is preferred.  If not currently TCOLE (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement) certified, must obtain.  The City of Lamesa will assist in obtaining any certifications required.
PAY:  Depending on experience and qualifications, starting at $15.70 hourly plus benefits.  Has the ability to obtain merit increase.

 

Maintenance Technician I
Water Department

The City of Lamesa is accepting applications for a full time Maintenance Worker I position.  Performs a variety of semi – skilled and skilled technical and maintenance work in the operation, maintenance and repair of water systems, The position operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of City water. Responds to complaints regarding water leaks. pressure loss or no water.
REQUIREMENTS: Valid Texas "Class "C" Driver's License, High School diploma or GED. Obtain a TCEQ Class D Water License within the first year of employment. The City of Lamesa will assist in obtaining all certificates required.
Pay:  Depending on experience and qualifications, starting at $15.70 hourly plus benefits.  Has the ability to obtain merit increase.

Heavy Equipment Operator/ Street Sweeper
Street Department

The City of Lamesa is accepting applications for the position of Heavy Equipment Operator / Street Sweeper Driver for the Street Department. This position consists of maintaining and driving street sweeper machine.  Minimum requirements are High School Diploma. Or Equivalent, and Truck Driver position requires a Texas Commercial Driver’s License, Class B.
Pay:  Depending on experience and qualifications, starting at $17.31 hourly plus benefits.  Has the ability to obtain merit increase.

Part/Time Code Enforcement Assistant

Under direct supervision of the Chief Inspector/Chief Code Enforcement Official. Coordinates with property owners and contractors to ensure proper permitting and inspection requirements are followed.  Acts as an assistant to the Chief Code Enforcement Official for the City. The purpose of this position is to assist in the completion of health, safety, and city ordinance inspections.  The position is responsible for assisting in issuing notices of violations to both the public and private sector in reference to local ordinances and codes and assists in the preparation of cases for judicial process. This position is also a public information resource. The ability to deal with the public tactfully and courteously.
