| Critical Water Alert | Dave Nix, Mayor of the City of Lamesa has issued a critical alert for the citizens of Lamesa.
On Tuesday, December 4th, CRMWA, the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority, informed the City of Lamesa that a leak occurred in the waterline south of Tahoka. The leak has been isolated, and the faulty line will be repaired next week. However, we will be 100% dependent on our city well field for at least one week and since about 75% of our water is supplied by CRMWA, we are taking precautionary measures now to help us work through this issue. Therefore, I am implementing Stage 5 Emergency Water Storage procedures, effective immediately.
Irrigation of landscaped areas is absolutely prohibited, and use of water to wash any motor vehicles, motorbikes, boats, trailers or any other vehicle is absolutely prohibited.
We appreciate everyone’s assistance and cooperation. We hope to have our CRMWA water back on line by Friday, December 14, 2012.
Mayor
